I’m still excited about this epic day trip my friends and I took on Saturday. We visited a newly renovated art museum all the way at the other end of the state, which was a round trip of 250 miles. The mountain roads in the middle of the state were incredible, and we stopped at a bunch of cool places along the way. This little trip had it all - spirited driving, luxurious food, nice beer, beautiful scenery, fine art, ultra modern architecture, and a sweet little indie book shop specializing in antiques.
They even had an original 1933 Monaco GP poster (only $500...). I settled for a pair of late forties international truck ads, a handful of vintage post cards from Boston and New York, and last but not least - two ancient roadside assistance kits in a can, made right here in Massachusetts. One for radiator leaks and another for patching tires. Whoever made them even had the gall to put “does not contain injurious chemicals” on the front of the radiator fix can. Yeah right!!

replaced the drivers CV axles. Drove to work this morning and almost had a rage fit/ meltdown. there was an absurd rattle coming from my dash. I’m thinking this is complete bullshit. I didn;t touch the dash, anything related to the dash how does this happen. I know its an Allroad but this cant be for real. About half way to work I finally realized it was my phone rattling against my windshield. The repair was 100% successful.

Where’s that? The Clark? Yes, there are some truly awesome roads in western MA. There are reasons why when I take my motorcycle out I typically point either west, or north to NH.
Saturday I worked radio for the RallySprint up at Team O’Neil with a few other Opponauts. Yesterday I attended a non-car club business meeting, got stuff done around the house, and installed my new driving lights on my motorcycle.

Got to be the course opening car at a rallysprint. Woo!
Cut the sidewall on one of my tires while driving the course. Balls!

lol I had a moment like that on my trip, my friend’s coffee cup was rattling incessantly and it took us a few minutes to figure it out.

Cutting and welding, more cutting and welding, and some more cutting and welding. A fuel tank, a door, a pickup bed filler piece, the back edge of the body, fuel tank support crossmembers, left fender... BZZZZZZ. KRKKRKRKKKKK

Bingo! It was the clark, which was awesome. I’d go out there again just for the drive. Definitely try “Public” in North Adams if you get the chance to, it’s this modern American cuisine + craft beer on tap place - they could charge double if they were in Boston!

That certainly wasn’t there when I went to school in North Adams. I’ll definitely check it out!
One of my favorite loops is the Mohawk Trail in one direction and Route 116 between Deerfield and Adams in the other. The Molly Stark Trail (Route 9) between Bennington and Brattleboro, VT is another good one.

Oooooo ok I will try to find both routes! It looked like there were nice roads all over the place. I think I did the Mohawk trail portion of that loop, the scenery + the roads were the best I’ve found in MA

Eh, they had 26,000 hard miles on them. I knew I'd be replacing them next spring at the latest
